Lotus Mother is the trusted agency in the UK for postnatal confinement doula support. Lotus Mother is based in London and was set up by two parents who have felt the pain of not finding the best support when their daughter was born over nine years ago. At the time before the birth, they didn’t realise how much a postnatal doula could have helped them.

See-wan Lam and Wouter Mayeur share this passion to help other parents who are looking for Mandarin, Cantonese or English speaking postnatal doulas and nannies. With an increasing number of families living far away from the rest of the family, new parents often feel overwhelmed and don’t know where to find the best support. 

Our vision is to provide UK families with access to holistic motherhood support from birth and beyond. We ask our confinement doulas and nannies to look after the wellbeing and mental health of the entire family. The postnatal support, in particular, supports mothers who may struggle mentally and physically post-birth.

See-wan and Wouter both hold an MBA from London Business School. They have lived in London for nearly 15 years. See-wan is a native Hong Kong Chinese and Wouter is a native Belgian. Both feel excited about bringing British and Chinese cultures closer together through this route. They now have a 10-year old daughter and a 7-year old son.
